Motivated strategies for learning questionnaire : twenty five years of motivational evaluation

Abstract

This study aims at presenting a revision of the development and subsequent adaptations and applications of the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ). And the main areas of expertise that have been reached in the field of motivation and self-regulation since their beginnings. The development of the MSLQ took 10 years of work and it is considered Paul Pintrich's main legacy. The MSLQ was created from a motivational and self-regulational sociocognitive framework. The carried out revision evidences the validity and interest for the MSLQ 25 years after it first appeared as well as the need for its revision after the occurred social changes and the conducted statistical analysis.
