Abstract

This paper deals with the evaluation of the influence of emotional self-regulation (impulse
control and control towards adverse situations) on the attitudes towards aggrieving situations. The sample included 287 adolescents of both sexes, 114 males and 173 females, between 15 and 17 years of age, residing in the city of Paraná, Province of Entre Ríos, Argentina. The instruments used were the Questionnaire on Attitudes towards Aggrieving Situations (CASACuestionario de Actitudes ante Situaciones de Agravio) and the Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQ-I). Gathered results show that there is a negative relation between impulse control and control in adverse situations, and aggressive behaviors of revenge, grudge and hostility.
