Religiosity and Spirituality: Are They Independent Theoretical Concepts?

The conceptual distinction between spirituality and religiosity is very complex since they have overlapping characteristics. However, their ultimate meaning is different. These variables are not mutually exclusive and can either overlap or exist separately; therefore, they must be carefully categorized and interpreted.
The article presents a conceptual review of the definitions of the terms spirituality and religiosity in the field of psychology indicating similarities and differences between them.
