Abstract

This paper focuses on some recurring problems in English-Spanish translation: polysemous words, prepositions, deceitful verb tenses and stylistic deficiencies. The analysis is based on five particular issues that may prove difficult to translate in biomedical texts: the noun practice, the preposition through, the present perfect, adverbial present participles and lexical redundancy. In addition to analyzing the complexities inherent in these elements, the aim is to provide strategies that may help to achieve a more effective translation.
