This article is devoted to a comparative analysis of three operas based on the myth of Cinderella, starting from canonical-literary versions by Basile, Perrault and Grimm: La Cenerentola by Rossini-Ferretti (1817), Cendrillon by Massenet-Cain (1899), and ¡Cenicientaaa...! by Lambertini (2008). We consider mythical aspects of the tale, as cosmogonic fight, hierogamic union, brotherly rivalry and edipal complex, and we study their validity and changes through the successive aesthetical periods corresponding to the three mentioned operas: Enlightenment, Romanticism, Postmodernism.
