Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of the historical evidences concerning the journey of Germanicus Caesar (15 BC – 19 AD) to Alexandria, on the roman province of Egypt, during the government of Tiberius Caesar (14-37 AD). This approaching intends to discuss the political questions involved on this event, and its implications on the relationship between the Princeps and this imperial candidate, specially by the latter’s ancestral relations with Marcus Antonius.
