During the crisis of liberal democracy in the interwar period, various anti-liberal intellectual movements emerged. One of these movements was Nationalism in Argentina, composed of intellectuals ranging from hispanists to traditionalists. Their expressions were constantly influenced by global circumstances and their local interpretations. Democracy, elites, and the social situation were elements of reality criticized and questioned by these intellectuals, who, with the shadow of alternative regimes in Europe, envisioned new directions for the country’s future. This work aims to clarify the preferences of the Argentine nationalist-hispanist movement through the concept of "perfect totalitarianism" in the newspapers Bandera Argentina and Crisol, as well as the magazine Sol y Luna.
