Abstract

On july 9th 1892, the Rosales torpedo boat from the Argentine Navy shipwrecked at two hundred miles from the cost of Uruguay. Only twenty out of eighty crew members were rescued. This work expounds the events the led to the shipwreck, their immediate repercussions in the public opinion in Buenos Aires and the highlights of the military trial against the ship’s commander.
