Propiedad privada, abasto y regulación del comercio y la circulación de mercancías en la campaña de Buenos Aires: desde fines de la colonia al gobierno de Martín Rodríguez

Abstract

The article inquires into the tax on internal trade of Buenos Aires and its relationship with the consolidation of private property in the campaign. From a case study, we examine the characteristics of tax rates on business activities in rural areas to identify changes and continuities in the ways of collecting and taxes. This analysis is combined with the problems that illegal practices related to the supply of cattle presented both in circulation in the campaign and in his introduction to urbanites markets. Both questions are contrasted with events from 1822, when during the government of Martín Rodríguez both commerce and the movement of cattle in the Hinterland try to be regulated with more emphasis in order to ensure respect for private property in the countryside.
