Los museos y el patrimonio histórico militar en la conformación de la identidad nacional

Abstract

The object of this work is link the activity of its museums and historical military heritage in conformation of identities as part of a project which began in the ends of century XIX. We address the historical military heritage since a broad visión including all those heritage objects which by its history and function they occupy in the formation of identities have close relationship with
the military history.
To this end, it will take four cases: the National Historical Museum, the Ship Museum Corbeta Uruguay, the House Museum Luis Piedra Buena and the Yellow House. They all heritage objects and institutions that emerge or resignify in order to provide the national and international community access to knowledge of the history of the country, to recognize it their identifying features.
