History of the Journal

Revista Teología was born in October 1962 with the aim of being a means of expression for professors and researchers of the Faculty of Theology, of the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina and in general of the currents of the Theology of the Latin American Church. Lucio Gera said in the presentation of the first issue:

‘A theologian must speak and make himself heard. He is a teacher. A Faculty is a school, and the theologian, in this sense, a ‘scholastic’.... All this takes the theologian out of his desert, his silence and his solitude, to make him a man with public functions, an inhabitant of the city centre, representing a Church that militates within a culture’.
