La Liturgia del futuro o el futuro de la Liturgia

Abstract

In the context of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the inauguration of the Second Vatican Council (1962-2012) and of the liturgical renewal proposed by the Constitution Sacrosanctum Concilium, the author sets out to make an assessment of the implementation of the principles which underlined the reform. He goes briefly over the ‘liturgical magisterium’ of the last decades, showing that there is not only a thread of continuity but also a disorientation which has emerged in broad Church sectors, by reason of the scope reached by the Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum and by its implementation through the Ecclesia Dei Commission Instruction, which regulates the prob- lematic issues caused by Lefébvre’s schism. Within this framework, he sug- gests some criteria which ought to channel the future of liturgy.
