Abstract

This article is motivated by San José Gabriel del Rosario Brochero’s recent canonization, hold by pope Francis at San Peter Basilica on October 16th 2015. In the first part the author presents Brochero as a priest, pointing the aspects of his character, the enviroment in which he developed his ministery and the characteristics of his apostolic work, that fascinated people during his life and nowadays. The second part contains the letters of a secular priest who visited the parish Villa del Tránsito during Brochero’s life. In this way we can contemplate the holy priest as the good shepherd.
