The aim of this paper is to suggest a possible study of Juvenal's Satires. For this, recent analysis in the fields of latin syntax and pragmatic will be acknowledged, such as those of Kroon (1995 and 2011) and Tarriño Ruiz (2009) among others. We shall focus on the study of some particles and their inner workings in the complex interwoven structure of the Satires, aiming at a linguistic approach to phenomena that have been mainly the object of works with a literary perspective. This will be done grounded on the assumption that understanding the mechanisms of the language is a reliable path for the philological study of the texts.
