Microtonos en el violonchelo. Algunas soluciones posibles al problema de su interpretación

Abstract

Problems regarding microtonal interpretation on the cello refer to just intonation and string instruments’ traditional procedures to accomplish a successful adaptation to different surroundings. Different examples are given as the starting point to observe closely those procedures and analyze the mechanics of this adaptation. Other passages will show that new aesthetics resulted in different functions for pitch within a musical work, providing new ways of action for traditional procedures.
