Abstract

The clarinet multiphonics represent a complex and highly variable topic. Composers, physicists and performers have tried for many years to understand them and to generate charts and laws that regulate them, without much success. The differences in the interpretation of the same multiphonics on diverse instruments suggest the impossibility of extracting general rules and the absolute necessity of testing and researching on the collaboration between composers and performers. This study attempts to close some general ideas and different tests, to sense the variability of this acoustical phenomenon.
