Aproximación musical a A-Ben-Amet (1907). Primera marcha mora de la historia de la música de moros y cristianos
Abstract
This paper deals with the musicological and stylistic analysis of the first Marxa Mora (Moorish March) of the history of the music of Moros i Cristians (Moors and Christians): A-Ben-Amet by the composer Antonio Pérez Verdú, who was born in Alcoy (1875-1932). To do this, we will focus on the most important elements of the Música Festera (music specifically composed for the fiesta of Moros i Cristians) which are: rhythm, melody and formal structure that make up the base of these analytical study, without forgetting others such as harmony or instrumentation. Furthermore, we will define the concept of Música Festera and other musical genres that are part of this musical art: the Marxa Cristiana (christian march) and the Pasodoble.
