Abstract

 Leonard Meyer (Meyer, 1956), states that the meaning of music is not associated to extra-musical entities, but with the interplay of tensions and distensions that music itself produces through the manipulation of the expectations of the listeners. This approach is further developed (Meyer, 1973) extensively in his implicative theory. Stephane Roy (Roy, 2003), has intended to extend Meyer´s work to the Electroacoustic Music analysis. This paper will present some thoughts on the possibility of an implication theory in Electroacoustic Music analysis and, generally speaking, in the music not based in the common practise. This exploration was considered as an unavoidable previous stage towards the application of the implicative analysis on Spatial Quality, which will be treated in full in the next article.
