Resumen

Mario Rapoport has a degree in Political Economy, is a professor emeritus at the University of Buenos Aires and has recently been appointed professor emeritus at the Instituto del Servicio Exterior de la Nación (ISEN), the first time that this distinction has been granted. He is also an honorary doctor by the National University of San Juan (Argentina).

Doctor from the University of Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne, his doctoral thesis, under the direction of Professor Pierre Vilar, focused on "La Grande Bretagne, les Etats Unis et la societé argentine: économie et politique". He is a senior researcher at the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas de la República Argentina.

He wrote, among other books and articles, Great Britain, United States and the Argentine ruling classes 1939-1945; Economic, political and social history of Argentina 1880-2003; Tumultuous relations. United States and the First Peronism; The Great Crises of Contemporary Capitalism; In the Eye of the Storm. The Argentine and world political economy in the face of the crisis; Saloon Bolshevik. Life of Felix J. Weil, and Blues of Utopia, a poetic anthology. He received the "José María Rosa", "Bernardo Houssay" and "James Alexander Robertson Memorial" awards from the Association of Historians of the United States and was a fellow of the Wilson International Center in Washington, one of the most prestigious academic institutions in that country, as well as a researcher and guest professor in several foreign and national universities.
